Staff at Beacon Bingo, Cricklewood, wanted to make the 20th anniversary of one of its longest standing bingo callers, Alvin Maudner, extra special last week [Friday 22nd March], so they threw him a presentation ceremony and party to mark the occasion.
Alvin first began working in the industry in 1975, and joined Beacon Bingo in 1979 as a cash bingo team assistant, after being headhunted by two managers he worked with at a previous club. He then worked his way up to being a bingo caller thanks to his calm and approachable demeanour.

Alvin said; “When I first joined Beacon Bingo from my old club it felt like I was moving from one home to another as I already knew a lot of the customers. I’ve had a few different positions within the club, but my current position as a bingo caller is by far my favourite. The best moment in my 20 years was calling the Colossus night, where the club paid out £100,000 on just one game. – meaning I’m the only caller to ever call such a large amount of money on a single game in a single club!”
“My time here has been made so much better thanks to the rest of the Beacon Bingo team, and the customers. They make coming into work an absolute pleasure.”

Alvin was presented with a certificate, voucher, flowers and a few small gifts by Cashino’s operations director, Steve Ambrose at Beacon Bingo Cricklewood on March 22nd.
Commenting on the achievement, Steve said, “We wanted to recognise Alvin for his dedication to Beacon Bingo throughout the 20 years. He’s is an amazing employee and a joy to be around!”
